Career Mentoring of Female Engineers

Making a Difference

Sierra Leone Women Engineers organised a tutoring session with young Senior Secondary school girls provided by new graduates from Engineering at Fourah Bay College. The tutoring took place at the SLIE Secretariat on Saturday 9 March 2019. The engineering graduates volunteered their assistance to tutor the pupils on the subjects and topics that were difficulty for them as they prepare to take their West African Senior School Certificate Exams (WASSCE).

On Saturday, the tutoring began with Functions in Mathematics. Successive Saturdays will include map reading in Geography, current and electricity in Physics. The graduates volunteered to continue tutoring them every Saturday till they take their WASSCE exams. The tutoring continues next Saturday. Thanks to Shaheen, Taiwo, and John for their support. Ing. Bernadette coordinated the SSC and was supported by Ing. Trudy Morgan, SLWE President, Ing. Marilyn Musa and Ing. Sallay Sowa.
